Juggling with Julia – Featured Friday

JuliaTGIF my friends!!! I love me my Friday’s!!! Of course for a lot of reasons but one of them is because I get to Feature a new blog, share an awesome new recipe and well help out another dear blogger is always a good thing! Today’s Momma is another favorite of mine. I never actually Featured Julia I was just always a big follower of her website because she cooks clean and healthy and she’s a Mother of three, so of course I’m going to love her!! I have made a recipe of hers though, do you remember this post, Just Because We Could, It was a post I had written back in April of 2012 when my family had my daughter over night. Another night that my husband and I got to live the “single” life together, actually when I read back on it, I was pretty funny, wonder what happened to that witty light humor I used to have!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Then do you remember the Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes I made that very weekend my daughter was away? Well those came from Ms. Julia too! Oh I remember them well I actually made them for my Mom and I a few weeks ago. Nothing like eating Pancakes without the guilt!! That link will actually take you to my old website! AHHH!!!! Speaking of old websites, Julia just revamped hers too and I love it!! Let’s talk about this lovely lady. She has a pretty cool job, well at least I think it’s pretty cool, she’s a registered dietitian. I love the way she explains her hectic life. ย She strives to find balance everyday. I really love that saying because after I suffered from PPD after I had my daughter my therapist said I needed to work on finding my balance with being a Mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend and STILL TAMMI. So when I hear someone say “Finding a balance” I truly believe in that expression. Plus this Momma is a scrapbooker, oh man the scrapbooking days Julia, I miss them! The last album I did by hand was my pregnancy album with my first. I did all 9 months, it was so fun, I just can’t seem to find time for it these days! I guess my joy has become in the kitchen! It’s funny because Julia always says, I don’t know how you do it with 2 little ones at home, it may seem like a post a lot but I don’t. It’s really just a build up of recipes I have because I don’t have the time to sit and write them. I have to cook for my family so the recipes get created, cooked, and photographed but then they sit here unedited and unwritten! So I find myself saying I don’t know how you do it Momma, you work and have three kiddo’s!! God bless you!!

Days like yesterday make me want another and days like today makes me want to pull my hair out, by the time I’m done this post ifNutella Cupcakes FF Julia (8) I added up the time it probably took me about 10 attempts. Ten different times of sitting down to write! And I wonder where my humor went LOL!! Now I see where Juggling with Julia got her bloggy ย name!! Want to know something else about Ms. Julia??!! We are probably about 30 minutes from each other!!! Can you believe it!?? I didn’t even know it, I still don’t know how I came about her blog but, I read something on it the other day about NH and I said wait………all this time you were living near me and I didn’t even know it!! We want to start a club!!! Well we should at least meet up if not start a club don’t you think ๐Ÿ™‚ I also love Julia’s philosophy for aย Fit and Food-loving Family. Go check it out because #1 is my favorite!! Let’s talk about some of her yummy recipes. I almost chose her Pumpkin Cinnamon Chip Muffins, but I ended up choosing her Nutella Banana Muffins because I bought a jar of Nutella awhile back and had never used it, not only had I never used it but I’ve never even had it before!!! I had no idea what I was missing!!! It’s like eating melted chocolate! I don’t think mine look as appetizing as Julia’s, my nutella came out more like blobs on the top but it still didn’t stand in the way of the taste, I loved the banana in it!!! Don’t leave out the banana because that really completed it for me, besides that hazelnut/chocolate topping! Then came the other mouth watering dishes, Julia’s Chicken Burgers with oven “Fried” Onion rings and Smokey Beer Cheese Sauce, boy that was a mouth full, I give this Momma credit for tackling 3 recipes in one mouth watering bite of a burger! Usually I can only pull that off if it’s a date night and someone has the kids! Plus I love chicken burgers so this one is on the list!! Another one that struck my fancy was her Barbados Beef Stew, for a few reasons, one being that I have yet to master the “Beef Stew” I just can’t seem to make it like my Mom and I can’t find one I love love, this looks delish so I’m going to try this one out! Oh and if you haven’t noticed I’m Frittata crazy these days! I’m always looking for a new one to try, the ingredients are endless so why not try Julia’s Zucchini Pepper Onion Frittata w/Bacon. OK I won’t keep you any longer on the pictures of the recipe of Julia’s that I did bake, yes I said bake, I occasionally do and when I do muffins are my favorite. Probably because they are the easiest!

  1. Tammi, this is incredible!! Thank you so much for featuring me and my recipes and the blog. Oh, you are truly one special Momma. Now I have to meet you in person ๐Ÿ™‚ And, ya know what, blogging IS scrapbooking! Just like digital scrapbooking with lots (and lots and lots, for you and me) journaling. So keep it up and you’ll get back to old-fashioned scrapbooking when the kiddos get a wee bit older. Glad you loved the banana-nutella muffins, and Barbados Beef Stew is one of my all-time favorites. Thank you for reminding about that! I love the savory/sweet combo in this Caribbean-inspired dish. Keep it up, Momma – you are amazing ๐Ÿ™‚
