Ham & Swiss Sandwich Sticks

I just happened to receive a post today from Pillsbury. Something of course looked yummy on the email! On Tues and Thurs I like to make lunches that I can share with all of you guys so while I was out food shopping I picked up a Pillsbury Pizza dough roll which I never do! So this recipe is adapted from Pillsbury. I changed a few things to see if I could make it as healthy as possible LOL.

INGREDIENTS:

1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated classic pizza crust
2 tablespoons honey-mustard
5 thinly sliced or shaved cooked ham
4 slices (3/4 oz each) Swiss cheese (I used reduced fat)
1 1/4 Cup of egg whites
1 tbsp sesame seed

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oven to 400°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray or grease with shortening. Unroll dough onto cookie sheet.
Starting at center, press out dough into 14×8-inch rectangle. Spread honey-mustard over dough to within 1 inch of edges.
Layer ham and cheese over mustard.
Fold long sides of dough over filling to center of rectangle; pinch to seal. Pinch short sides to seal and tuck under.
Brush with egg white.
Sprinkle with sesame seed.
Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cut into 6 pieces; serve warm.
I sliced it into 5 strips. LOL just seemed right!
As I was slicing them I realized that this would make an awesome to go lunch for my daughter because it’s like ham and cheese all pre-made!! We shall see tonight!
Look at the dripping cheese!!
They were good! Great lunch! Next time I may try rolling it into a log and slicing them that way……oh the possibilities!
******Ham with Swiss cheese is a great combination, but you can use any of your favorite cheeses in this hearty, hot sandwich roll. Try Colby-Monterey Jack, Cheddar or mozzarella.****

  1. I never buy it either! LOL! But it does look good and easy! I make my own pizza dough but, with tern grandkids coming for Summer, it’s quick n filling! And..it looks awesome btw! 🙂

    1. OMG that sounds like my daughter, we is VERY picky, she did munch on this, didn’t eat it all but still munched on it, I split my leftovers in half and it makes the best little sandwich stick for a kiddo! Thanks for stopping by!
