Deep Dish BBQ Pizza

I wanted to try something different so I used some leftover chicken to make this Whole Wheat Deep Dish Pizza!! My hubby loved it and it was so nice to have something different than pizza sauce! Simple and easy week night meal!

Ingredients:

1 Pkg. of Whole Wheat Pizza Dough (or make your own, I’m not that ambicious!)
1/2 Cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce (we use Baby Rays  BBQ)
1/2 Cup of light Alfredo Sauce (I used Ragu’s)
1/2 Cup of 2% shredded parmesan cheese
1 Cup of reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese (I used fat free)
2 Chicken Cutlets
Oregano, Salt, Pepper and Basil for seasoning
Olive oil

What to do:

I cooked my chicken first, I brushed some BBQ sauce on it and just baked it for 15 min at 350F.

Then I prepared my dough using a 9 x 13 baking dish. I did spray some non-stick spray and it slipped right on out! I used olive oil, oregano, basil, salt & pepper to season the dough.

I mixed the BBQ sauce and alreado together ( I did this because I didn’t want too much BBQ sauce, I’m glad I did it!)

I poured the sauce on the dough and brushed it around evenly.

I added the cheese evenly.

I chopped up the chicken. I like mine in small pieces but feel free to do what you and your family may like.

I added the chicken to the pizza.

I cooked it for 15 min at 425F. Believe it or not the dough does rise up the sides….I love deep dish!!

Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing it.

Dive in…..It was so GOOOOOD, I don’t know about you but I feel a lot better using whole wheat, fat free or reduced fat cheeses. The guilt of loving this pizza isn’t so bad this way!

Go. Make. It.
