Top TEN Momma Posts of 2013

I love New Years! I love it because it’s a chance to glimpse back at the year that has come and gone. So many things happen in a year. For me it was the birth of my son, the purchase of our very first home, and a lot of great accomplishments for this Momma! Then I get to look forward to the upcoming year, I tend to concentrate on Summer because I prefer warmer weather. For now I’ll spend the rest of the winter cooking and creating, I’m having a surgery I’ve waited ten years for, then before I know it Summer will be here and I’ll be celebrating my son’s first birthday, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! It is just so crazy how fast time flies. In the mean time let’s look at the Top Ten Momma Posts of 2013. Last week we took a look at the Top Ten Featured Friday’s of 2013 and next week I’ll be posting the Top 20 Recipes Viewed for 2013. It’s a few weeks of The Best of the Best here at Momma’s Meals!

10. What’s Up Momma? How about a new recipe? This was a great post because as I read it I didn’t feel so badly as to why we only made it about 400 feet up the mountain we were trying to hike. Why you ask? Because I was pregnant and didn’t even know it! Love when you realize those moments. Though I have a feeling even if I weren’t I still wouldn’t have made it very far! A great appetizer recipe you should check out too!

9. How do you sleep at night? – This one hits close to home for me. It was the first time I talked about a huge emotional roller coaster my family and I suffered from a few months after my daughter was born. As I re-read this post I’ve come to realize that my heart forgives more easily than others. Family is family and no matter how much they can hurt you they are still your family. I have since forgiven this terrible time that was brought upon us however I will never forget it. Instead I’ve learnt from it and I got to be the bigger person this past week and introduced my new son to the family member that once hurt my heart so badly. My heart has slowly healed in a way I never thought it could.

8. One Piece of Advice….- I love love love this post. It’s some quotes I gathered from some of my Momma friends. Friends that have suffered from PPD , Mom’s of one, two or three kiddo’s. It’s a great reminder of how we can all overcome the drips and drabs of motherhood. How to pull up our boot straps and keep on trucking!!

7. Daddy’s Maternity Leave- I loved looking back on this one. My husband took five weeks off this past summer after I had my son. It was so nice to have him around. We got so much accomplished and really got to enjoy and get to know our new addition. It’s so hard to believe it was six months ago. Come check it out because there is a nice recipe in this post!

6. Keep Romance Alive Once Baby Arrives- Oh yes I went there! Yes I talked about how much your love life sinks after you have children! However talking about it, writing about it, has always helped maintain it. I even asked my husband to whip this sheet of paper out of his wallet the other day because he’s been a slacker! 😉

5. What’s Up Momma? House Tour Anyone?– Yay my new house made it in the running!! I worked so hard on unpacking as quickly as I could so my family and I could feel comfortable in our new home, and here we are year later and I feel like I’ve lived no where but in this very home! Join me in a house tour. Oh man, sure looked a lot cleaner back then, than it does now!!

4. How Gluten Changed her Life- This post was a guest post from a fellow Momma friend I met after I had my first. Kristen is a sweetheart and she talks about how she went about going Gluten Free. There are some great tips and even a recipe included in this post so make sure you check it out or forward it onto someone you may know who is trying to go Gluten Free or has struggled with the decision.

3. Pregnancy, It’s a Love/Hate Relationship- HAHA I loved writing this post, it was the ups and downs of my pregnancy with my son. I wrote when no one knew I was expecting and then I posted it after I was able to tell everyone. It just made me laugh as I read through it. I loved being pregnant with my first, not so much with my second, another reason why I’m 99.9% sure we are done having kids!

2. What’s up Momma? Party Snack Mix Crock Pot Style– I’m super happy this one made the running. I had so much fun one weekend cooking and making chocolates for friends and daycare providers. It makes the perfect gift for people that are special to you. I had one basket left when we closed on our house a year ago, I ended up giving it to the couple we bought our house from because they were the sweetest people I had ever met. Come check out a Party Mix you can make right in your crockpot!

1. All of our happy news– I’m so happy this post won! As I type up this list for you, it forces me to re-read all of these lovely posts I’ve shared in my past. This post was about announcing to my readers that we were expecting our second kiddo. When Drew was just the size of a bean 🙂 It’s made me see just how far my family has come and that sometimes we have to put our responsibilities ahead of our hobbies. It also made me realize that I never got to cook or bake through the holidays last year because we were in the middle of moving, then I also didn’t get much cooking or baking done this season either because we were all sick! Oh well there is always next year!
