#FWConf here I come!! A Trip well deserved

Hello and happy Wednesday morning everyone!! While your reading this I’ll be getting ready to head to Orlando, Florida to my very first Food & Wine Conference! Anyone who follows me regularly knows that the SundaySupper Movement, founded by the wonderful Isabel Laesigg means a whole lot to me. Not only do I get to meet A LOT of the Sunday Supper family but I get to finally hug this woman! So much has happened in the last year for my family and no one deserves this trip more than my husband and I. Actually I have to thank him because if it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be going. When it came to booking time, the mother in me said no no no we should spend the money on other things. He simply said, No. You wanted to go last year and you were about to give birth, you deserve this, I deserve this, you only live once. So here we are!!

FWC

This amazing event is being held at the glorious Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fl. This hotel looks amazing and I can’t wait to kick back and enjoy it. We are going to indulge in so many delicious meals together, laugh with people that I feel like I’ve known forever, be without kids and obviously the food blogger in me is going to be learning a whole bunch of new things in the blogging world. I’ll get to hear motivating speeches from people who have brought their blogs to careers, learn from photographers who make their pictures mouth-watering, watch amazing demo’s from chef’s and even hear from cookbook authors and how they got to be where they are today! It’s just proof that dreams can come true.

I now have the opportunity to work for Isabel and when I heard the story of how she started this movement it brought tears to my eyes. I get to be a part of this wonderful event behind the scenes and I can’t wait for it to start! Next year I hope I get to volunteer and actually help Isabel make this event happen, you would be totally amazed at all of the hard work that goes into making this event successful. I have to admit at first the agena was intimidating! I’ve never been to something like this so I was overwhelmed with the schedule of events. However now that I’ve had a chance to go through it day by day and have heard people talk about last years successful event, I’m just plain EXCITED!!

Of course an event like this could never take place without some pretty great Sponsors! I’m happy to name a few that I’ve gotten to know myself over the year from joining them in baking and cooking! None other than Gallo Family Vineyards of course who is the official sponsor of this event. I’ve had the pleasure of cooking with plenty of Gallo’s fine wine. My Pork with Moscato Sauce & Veggies, Red Wine Meatball Subs and this past week we talked about grilling recipes and I made BBQ Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches.  Another great sponsor is Dixie Crystals. I had the pleasures of cooking with Dixie Crystals in March and made a Poached Pear Bread that was to die for! Just to add a few others, and believe me this is not all of them. Cabot Cheese, Stoneyfield, Idaho Potatoes, and Beef it’s what’s for dinner. Stay tuned we have an a Beef event coming up!

I know my kids are still really young and I don’t have a lot of time on my hands to make my blog a true career but you have to start somewhere and I’m willing to put the work into it. I started a blog a few months after my first was born as an outlet to motherhood and here I am today. I’ve virtually met wonderful people, I’m about to finally hug them all, I get paid to cook some fabulous dishes, I have a part-time job that allows me the flexibility I need and the best part is………..I’m home with my babies. So follow me on this journey. Follow #FWConf I’ll be posting pictures on Facebook, Instragram and Tweeting of course! Here is to a fabulous weekend!
