Recipe type: Appetizer
Serves: 10 egg rolls
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. of ground sirloin
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, finely chopped
  • ½ cup of mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 4 strips of center cut bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 2 tbsp of ketchup
  • ¾ cup of shredded cheese of your choice (I used Cabot's White Cheddar)
  • egg rolls
  • Dipping Sauce:
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tbsp of ketchup
  • 3 tbsp of mustard
  • 2 tbsp of horseradish sauce
Instructions
  1. Heat a skillet on medium heat and add the ground sirloin breaking it up with a wooden spoon. minutes.
  2. Add in chopped pepper and continue breaking up the meat to mix in the peppers. Continue to brown the meat.
  3. When it's almost completely cooked add in the mushrooms, ketchup and bacon. Mix to combine and remove from the heat when the meat is completely browned.
  4. In a small bowl beat the egg white and put aside. Line a baking pan with tinfoil and place 2 baking racks on top of the baking pan.
  5. Add 1-2 tbsp of meat mixture to one egg wrapper leaving the edges clear. Top with cheese. Fold in the sides and roll. Place seam down on the baking rack. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
  6. Brush each egg roll with the egg white and bake on one side for 8 minutes. Flip and bake for another 10 minutes.
  7. While they bake make the sauces by adding 1 tbsp of horseradish sauce to 3 tbsp of ketchup and 1 tbsp of horseradish to 3 tbsp of mustard.
  8. Change the heat over to broil and place the rack under the broiler for 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it, this will crisp them up more but you don't want to burn them, every oven is different.
  9. Serve with dipping sauces and enjoy!
