#BeachBody Check-In and an Interview

Update
Happy Monday everyone! I thought it was time to check in on my status with #Beachbody. I’ve come to realize that it’s never going to be something that I give up. It’s becoming a way of life for me. I NEED that 30 minutes a day. I feel like I’m not even doing these workouts to actually loose weight anymore. I’m now doing them to maintain and stay fit for my little family. As far as for myself, well I can honestly say I’ve never felt better.

I did take measurements back in May when I started this program. I never really kept up with them because I’d check them again every other month or so, the numbers would go up and down so I then realized that I was doing something wrong so instead I use the scale and I go by how my cloths feel and how I feel in general. That’s really all that matters. I may be happier being at a weight that some people may not ever be happy at. It’s OK. I can’t say that I had an epiphany and said that’s it, I’m loosing weight!! I didn’t even have a “start” day, I actually started on a random Wednesday! This time of year marks one year since I had a surgery that forever changed my life. I’ll spare you the details but I can honestly tell you that I can work out now and really get into it. I knew once I had this surgery I would be able to be more active and that alone would push me into just being more healthy in general.

My children are at the age where I want to teach them what they are putting into their mouths each day. I’m slowly learning that it’s going to be a battle but it’s a battle I’m willing to fight (If I could just get my husband on board since he is the BIGGEST snacker I’ve ever seen!) Don’t get me wrong my kids will have a piece of cake at birthday parties, special occasions and animal crackers will always be a staple in our home but why not just be more conscious of it. Now at birthday parties if my kids are busy playing I don’t go get them to have a piece of cake, but if they come and ask for one, they can have one. I push fruits and veggies 75% of the day, I make homemade sauces that I sneak veggies into. I try and involve both kids in the kitchen with me, my daughter likes to help and my son honestly just LOVES sitting and watching me. We still eat fishies and packaged crackers but it’s work in process and every little bit helps. Madison knows that Mommy and Daddy have a workout every day now. She goes and lies down in her bed for a “rest” when Drew naps and she always says “Come and get me when your done your shower Momma!”. It’s becoming a way of life for all of us and I love it.

I want to introduce you to someone I met……well if I remember correctly I met Kelley through our local Mommy group that puts on classes and groups for babies and kids in general. It’s a wonderful base of support and I’ve met some of my best friends their. So when Kelley reached out to me to join one of her fitness Facebook groups I didn’t hesitate! I can always use the support and I’ve come to realize that talking with other busy Moms every day really helps push. It’s motivating seeing others try so hard! Kelley is a #Beachbody coach however she’s different than all the others I’ve met. I think of her as a Momma just like me. Yes she’s trying to make a business and help others but she genuinely cares.  I’m inspired by her everyday because no matter what this girl gets her activity in each and every day! She responds to questions, she keeps me on my toes and she’s become such a great support system for me. So I decided to interview her. If you’ve ever thought about beachbody please consider Kelley to be your coach. She will take you to whatever goal you have in mind for yourself. I promise you if her and I can get to the goals we’ve gotten to, so can you! Here are some of the daily posts we put together and post in our groups to keep each other going.

1. Tell us about Kelley?
I am a 38 yr. old wife and mother of 2. Born and raised in Nashua, NH and now living in Manchester, NH. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, running and doing my Beach body videos. This past year I ran 3 half marathons and hope to someday run a full marathon.

2. When did you start the Beach Body Program and why?

In September of 2013, a friend and Beach body coach was advertising an Accountability group so I joined and bought T25 and Shakeology. It was 5 months after having my 2nd baby and I wasn’t losing any weight. I was tired all the time and lacking motivation. So with the help of my coach and the group, I completed 10 weeks of T25 and lost 15lbs. I was feeling better and better every day. So I wanted to keep it going. A few months later they come out with the 21 day fix. I started that and haven’t looked back since. I’m down over 40 lbs since I started!

3. How has Beach Body changed your life?

Beachbody has changed my life because it made me realize I can get in shape right in my own living room with limited time.

4. Why did you become a couch?

I became a coach to help people as I have been helped. You also get a great discount on shakeology and all the programs as a coach. After losing weight and feeling great I wanted to show other people what you can do right at home.

5. If you were to recommend any beach body program which one would it be and why?

This is a hard question. All the programs are great. I have 2 favorites. The 21 day fix and Piyo. The 21 day fix comes with a portion control meal plan. Simple to use containers that help you learn the proper portions and food groups to eat, along with a kick up 7-day work out program. I also love Piyo, Chalene is so motivational and I just look forward to doing the videos any chance I get. I do believe that the 21 day meal plan containers now come with Max 30, so it is also something you can buy separately too.

6. You are clearly an inspiration to others that want to become healthy and fit as a lifestyle change not just a diet so if you could offer one piece of advice what would it be?

Find the healthy foods that you enjoy and like to eat, and spices, healthy food doesn’t have to be tasteless! Find a work out program that you like to do. If you enjoy it you are more likely to do it. Schedule you workouts. Fail to plan, plan to fail! Also, DON’T GIVE UP. Progress can be slow, but you do get stronger every day so just keep at it and soon enough you will see a difference.

I think it’s funny that Kelley choose one of my favorite recipes too, we lived on it during the summer, but has just reminded me that I need to make it even though the grill is put away for the season. I just happen to have some pictures of this dish! I love Kelley’s answer about how sometimes it can be a slow process to reach your goals, it doesn’t happen over night and I’m am one of those people that needs to “feel” or “see” results quickly. I’m trying to work on that and just maintain the good feeling that comes with working out each day.

  1. Good on you for sticking with it! I’m looking forward to moving on to the half hour programs. I’m currently on Day 48 of the p90x (after a week’s break while the eldest was in hospital recovering from his emergency appendix surgery!). Started up again yesterday – ooch I ache! 😀 Wish there was a coach where I lived, but alas – it’s just me and the tv!

    1. Good for you for getting back to it! Hey we all have busy times, I’m on day 5 of no workouts due to snow storms = the kids school closed and work! You’ll get there. Log onto the beachbody website they will find you a coach, plus you don’t have to live near them either, I just got lucky 😉 Kelley can still be your coach! Thanks for visiting!
